Re: The MOVIE Thread

good to hear you finished 'The Wire', it's still my favorite show to this date for many of the reasons you mentioned. I thought season 4 hit me the hardest since it felt a little all too real at moments, but that's why I found it powerful I suppose. The ending is damn near perfect, what a great summ...

Re: Whatcha playing?

If I do sit down and play a game these days I do a complete 100% run, it's the only way I can justify the investment of time/money. I would be playing Total Warhammer but I doubt my rig could run it very well, I already have issues with TW Rome as it is. I'm waiting for a Steam holiday sale on that ...

Re: Whatcha playing?

Went on a little gaming spree since I'm stuck in Act II of my current screenplay project and none of the films I want to see have leaked online yet. Revisited Skyrim with some ENB mods (highly recommend checking these out if you game on PC) and it was a comfy if flawed experience. I looked at all th...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

Right on, glad you gave 'The Wire' a second chance. My first viewing of season 2 was a bit rough from what I remember since 2 really does stand out from all the other seasons. I think if you got rid of Ziggy it would be near perfect but luckily, he's not a huge character, I found the story of Frank ...

Re: Whatcha playing?

Been replaying Fallout: New Vegas on Very Hard/Hardcore, an equally fun and frustrating challenge. Fun in that Hardcore is the way to really experience the RPG atmosphere of the game/setting and frustrating because of the rampant amount of bugs even most mods can't fix. Thankfully on PC there are co...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

Got dragged into 'Tomb Raider' by old coworkers. It was kind of nice to get out of the house I guess. A tomb gets raided, there, saved you $14. Another reboot! How exciting…. I have to say, going in I was rather curious – so far this flick has been heavily divisive as reviews go and that’s what intr...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

Finally got around to 'Annihilation', I think you might enjoy it Salad. A system of cells interlinked within cells interlinked within cells interlinked within one stem. And dreadfully distinct against the dark, a tall bright shimmer refracts - oh wait. ‘Annihilation’ was a much anticipated Sci-fi/ho...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

A list of my personal top 20 films from 2010 – present that I still keep updated as often as I can. I included links to the trailers for each entry and highly encourage you to check these out. There is a large variety of filmmakers from all over the world that I thought were important contemporary v...

Re: Whatcha playing?

I need to check out that MtG Arena alpha then, sounds cool. I hope they add Legacy since that is my preferred method to play the game honestly. So much more balanced back then, despite mono black decks for a short time. idk I still love Hearthstone, even when I know it's flawed to all hell. I'm just...

Re: Whatcha playing?

I hear ya loud and clear, I still own six MtG decks that are pretty damn good, but I used to own a couple decks that were super expensive and overpowered as hell. I had more fun with my weaker decks in the long run since the better ones were so broken, I ended up selling them. The one thing I did fo...

Re: Whatcha playing?

Finally got around to Hearthstone, I love it, well, with a glaring nitpick I guess. It's a neat blend of MtG and WoW. I'm so tempted to pay money on it but so far I haven't. I earned a few free booster packs for preordering the SC2 and D3 expansions apparently and some of the cards I got blow the fr...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

‘The Florida Project’ has been on my watch list for a while now and today I’m finally glad to say that I got to experience this film. ‘The Florida Project’ truly immerses you into this rough setting in the most colorful and beautiful viewpoint from a child. This film explores the often-forgotten par...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

One of these days I'll get back on the 'Black Mirror' wagon. I finished the first season and it was very hit or miss for me but I do appreciate the originality. After the sour taste of GoT I just gave up on miniseries honestly, it's hard to fully explain. I haven't watched a tv show since. I'll try ...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

‘Brawl in Cell Block 99’ was a pleasant surprise, pure brutally violent grindhouse. You’ve never seen Vince Vaughn like this before as we watch his character descend into the depths of Hell itself. What surprised me the most is how visually the story is being told to us rather than bogging down in e...

Re: The MOVIE Thread

'Downsizing' sucked. Slanderous political agenda bullshit.

'Call Me by Your Name' is 'Moonlight' all over again, Oscar bait queer pride eye rolling hit piece.

'The Disaster Artist' was alright, huge missed opportunity to be a classic though.

'I, Tonya' was surprisingly pretty good.
