Scariest Game!

Post by will71110 » Fri Apr 15, 2005 11:38

I was just reading a Post of Doom 3 and I started to think, what is the scariest game that I’ve ever played? And what did I think of, Alone in the Dark. That game scared me at almost every corner. I really hated it when something was invisible and only showed up when it was lighting. Silent Hill would have to come in 2nd then Resident Evil.

Silent Hill 3, probably. The first SH wasn't that scary. Alone in the Dark was scary, but only cause I played it when I was about 6 or something. I found it more annoying than anything, the way you had to predict where the zombies and things would come from. There wasn't even any warning. The later games, while a lot more fun in my opinion, weren't very creepy. AitD 4 was a joke, unfortunately.

It'd be really neat if someone remade the originals.

No game "scares" me. I might jump but, not scared. The only thing that has come close to scaring me was the Ocean House quest on VTMB.

Acctaully thats what I mean....I mean there is no game I've played where I could not sleep that night because it was that scarrie. I wonder if they'll ever make a game that is so gross and scarie that would make you want to stay up at night? Of course would I acctually play it? :?

Since when is not being able to sleep an indication of how scary a game was? It's while you're playing it that counts.

Agreed, pretty scary. FEAR looks creepy also.

It had a good story but it pretty much failed as a horror game, though it never really even attempted to be scary after the first 20 or so minutes anyway. It's a pity the way the game started feeling so rushed after you defeat the first 'boss' though.

well, i found this really surprising, but..

I had been playing half life 2 for about 2 hours, and it was like, 3 o clock in the morning, so....lights are out, headphones blaring, and i really feel like im in the game, and im playing in ravenholm, right? and so anyways im like blah blah, slow zombies and fun toys.....

and then one of those crackhead zombies comes roaring and sprinting at me at like 50 mph, that was scarier than doom 3 i think...

That's kinda like saying Matrix was scarier than Die Hard. Doom 3 is not a horror game, it's an action game with horror themes.

yeah but if you think about it, this whole world is like a wooly mammoth sideways on an armadillo having a footrace with a zebra and giraffe in moccasins

but if the wooly mammoth moves clockwise, the world ends, and gary coleman actually runs the bill cosby show, and bill cosby runs conan o brien, and conan o brien runs david letterman show, and david letterman runs bill or reilly, and bill o reilly runs different strokes,

you see, one big screwed up circle of stuff

It is all clear to me now. We must not let the wooly mammoth move clockwise, lest the whole world fall into chaos

Oh wait. There are no wooly mammoths!
