Conjuring the Cataclysm [Mod Election 3.0: Voting]

Post by kob » Thu Nov 10, 2011 08:23

Send all your votes to me through a PM. Feel free to say who you're voting for I just want a centralized location for the votes. Voting deadline is Sunday the 13th @ 9PM Central Time, the winner being posted Monday. You can change your vote as much as you like by sending me a new PM. ONLY PM'D VOTES COUNT. Candidates CAN vote for themselves. I'll also be voting, but not saying who.

If you're struggling, check out the mod debate thread to see your opponent's stance on issues.

Here are your candidates speeches:

Scythe:
A vote for me is a vote for ME..!!
If elected I will raise taxes, starve the hungry/poor, and murder millions of small children at your own amusement!
I promise more forum events that will (hopefully) be interesting and you guys will want to participate, I believe it would be fun.
I will still enforce the N-word rule, though that is not as much of a problem now as it was a few years back. ;D
I promise to be a fun mod because WHO LIKES LAME, MEAN, BORING ONES RIGHT?
Also, NO POLLUTION. And global warming is guaranteed to stop if I am elected. I talked to Al Gore about it.
I am a veteran of this election stuff, this is my second election. I missed the second one, but hey! I believe I am qualified for this position as cool moderator guy.
So GO ON and VOTE FOR SCYTHE!
SCYTHE FOR MOD 2011
Chill:
I promise to fuck less dogs and to carry on doing what I've been doing for the last couple of years with the same amount of feverity, efficiency and above all else, maliciousness.

I promise that sometimes I'll wear a hat when its raining and that I'll sweep the bottles off my desk in rage whenever someone with numbers in their name has the gall to make a post. Depending on how much I win, I may also sacrifice a hooker and bathe in his/her blood for my peers amusement.
Mr. Smith:
If you vote for me I promise to have secret backyard kangaroos kill Bin Laden.
I will also raffle off a copy of Mass Effect 3 if I win. Everyone who votes for me gets two entries into the raffle. Everyone else only gets one.
Stabbeh:
Portal forums has changed very much over the past 4 (nearly 5) years I've spent here.
We're at a point where I feel very limited moderation is needed, and that is something that,
if elected, this is an ideal I intend to uphold. As moderator, it is my intention to uphold liberty,
by limiting my use of power upon discussions. I'm a strong proponent of freedom of speech, and I intend to
use warnings and bans only in blatant cases of harassment and the liking.

Also, in the past, a flow of new members was seen as important to keep the board afloat...
This is obviously no longer the case, however, but I do intend to take action in stimulating discussion
and other activity on the board, to keep the board active.

Finally, I think it is worth mentioning that I am a fairly active members of this board and I have plenty of time to moderate
and take part in activity and discussion on the board.

Vote for Stabbeh
Thank you

The PM idea is cool.
It's like a mystery.
Back in my day we just did an actual poll on the thread.

The votes are in and we have a 3-way tie! The voting went down as such:

Scythe - 3
Stabbeh - 3
Chill - 3
Smith - 2

This means Smith is out of the election and the people who voted for Mr. Smith must re-vote. I will PM them asking for the re-vote. Should we end up in yet another tie, everyone will re-vote.

The tie breaker has been reduced to two. The remaining candidates are Stabbeh and Chill.

I'm going to change how I do the final vote. Instead of everyone re-voting, all of those who voted for Scythe will re-vote. I'll be PMing those people asking for their new vote. When those votes are in then the winner shall be determined.

I actually didn't vote.

If I voted for me I would win.

I'm not voting.

Good luck Stabbeh.
