there are a couple story lines from the books that are way overdo being brought into s6 but yeah, the rest is entirely creatively ahead now and up to D&D.

I think I've finally figured the main story of the show out after going back and re-watching it but that is some heavy spoiler shit. lets just say there is a ridiculous amount of hints and foreshadowing watching the first couple seasons and comparing them to the new ones, it's insane.

R+L = J is gonna happen.

Just finished Mr Robot so I'm ready for the next season.

I'm not like super onboard with where the show is going, but I'm definitely interested. And seeing hacking given a semi-realistic, House-style treatment is fun.

There's this moment in one of the episodes where a certain someone is trying to get a CD out of a drive before anyone notices and I was saying in my head, "dude, any techy knows that you can force open a CD drive with a paper clip in the manual override slot." But then they literally do just that and it was so freaking satisfying.

I know it's like a tiny thing but it was as if the screenwriter reached into my brain to give me exactly what I wanted.

haha yeah those little details are what made me enjoy the show so much. I feel like next season could be really cool or a total blunder. the writing team is walking a tightrope where it could get completely silly and ridiculous if it's not handled well.

also finished the new House of Cards season the other day. so much better than season 3, although it was a little silly in some points and I didn't feel like the writers had a clue where they were taking it at points. like Mr. Robot they could totally fuck the next season up by taking it too far. overall a great season though.

Yeah, the thing about Mr Robot is that it's really carefully juggling these three elements that don't mix, the Breaking Bad-esque personal drama, the techno-porn hacking realism, and the social justice-y revolution plot.

By delving too far into any of them, they risk sabotaging what makes the show interesting. But they've sort of written themselves into a corner because if they intend to stick to realism, what the characters have just done to the world is so freaking absurd that we're basically into a fantasy realm at this point, and it's going to be very hard to keep things grounded, personal and semi-real.

just finally got caught up with Mr. Robot and you both said exactly what I wanted to say already, sorry for the cheap cop-out. I'm honestly a bit tipsy, but yeah, the show did kind of jump the shark way too soon and the story is very cornered, if the writers can dig themselves out of that it would be really compelling to watch since I'm rather curious on their approach.

it started off great but as Salad said, they are juggling chainsaws at this point for it to make logical sense and that's what concerns me. overall, awesome ideas throughout but I don't see a formidable future for it to last seasons upon seasons given the material, I still am interested but I honestly can't find a legitimate way for this to play out in a narrative speaking perspective. we'll see though, it may all be a part of their plan. with no survivors, of cooourshhh.

in retrospect, I'm officially crowning Mad Max: Fury Road as my favorite film of 2015. makes me laugh hard going back and looking at my dumbass for hesitating to see it much more hilarious. ah, gotta love irony I suppose.

he is brilliant in it. and the cinematography is great. and the score is superb. watch it

i pretty much agree with you ydte although personally i don't think the show cornered itself or anything. given how great the writing has been i trust the team. but i do agree it doesn't seem like the type of show that could last many seasons. i'd be totally alright if this wrapped up in 3-4 seasons honestly.

GoT soon comrades

FUCKING GoT FOR REAL NIGGA! HOLY FUCK THAT TRAILER! it can still suck major balls, I'm aware of that, but I'm feeling confident this new season will blow us away. we'll see.

anyway, well, by cornered, yeah, I was a bit harsh I admit. I think this series should be a three season quick lesson in its own art form. its theme is rather oppressive, straight to the point, get your message out there, do your thing, kinda feel. I don't hate the material by any means but it has to be quick and concise to serve its point, otherwise it'll turn into Lost and lose all of its merit. that's not a bad thing by any means, in this is the type of show it's actually an advantage to do that effectively by being short and sweet, yet smart, in the end.

the levels of drama is what makes me shifty, as you both mentioned, but I think if this is a 3 season statement among internet culture it will be just fine. I can't see this show having 10 seasons, no offence. I like what they're doing here but it really is a consolidated example of collective thought on the subject, there's only so much you can do. It could have been told in two cable movie specials tbh, but I'm glad it's in this platform for entertainment value.

it is nice to look forward to new episodes again but eh, recap is a good example. I have a feeling the second half of the season shit will get real.

I hope the sandsnakes die horribly since the Dorne plotline is killing the show for me.

you think Stannis is dead? Roose briefly mentioned it but knowing this show we didn't see it happen.

I think there's going to be a bunch of major deaths in the last couple episodes that have been foreshadowed for a while now.

I'll post predictions in spoilers
Cersei gets killed by Loras
Zombie Mountain kills High Sparrow and Lancel, maybe Kevan too. Varys might end up killing one of them as well.
Tommen dies in the fray of religious nuts vs Zombie Mountain and friends
Ramsay kills Roose and Wanda to become Warden of the North or maybe they die in the "battle of the bastards" (Jon vs Ramsay holy fucking shit!) I think Ramsay will live and escape somehow but Jon retakes Winterfell. If Roose is still alive by then I think Sansa will order him exectured or something.
Daario gets killed by Jorah after finding out he was behind Harpys
Euron kills Theons father and replaces him
I think Theon might die since his character really has nothing else to do but could be wrong so not certain
Margery might die during the big clash alongside Tommen I think
Arya kills the waif and leaves Bravos going after Walder Frey
Greyworm is a goner after being betrayed by Daario
Podrick dies trying to save Brienne
Tormund and Wun Wun die at battle for Winterfell

i see a lot of complaints about what's happening with Dorne but honestly i was never all that invested in it anyway. and truth be told i've kinda forgotten why it even exists. mind giving me a refresher?

nah i don't think Stannis is dead. until i see the body i don't believe anyone is dead. it would be absolutely retarded if he was. all that build up and that's it?

what I remember from the books:

royalty in Dorne wanted to make Myrcella the Queen of the Seven Kingdoms instead of Tommen. shit goes south, she gets slashed across the face and disfigured but lives and sails back to Kings Landing and then the rest we don't know. The Sandsnakes were spies not warrior princesses.

Jamie and Bronn never went there on their buddy adventure and went to the Riverlands instead. Ellaria wasn't a conniving bitch for no reason, it was her daughter I believe, Arianne that wanted to rebel against the Lannisters. They swapped character traits in the show for no real reason.

Doran is a major player but in the show he has two scenes and dies for no reason. He hates the Lannisters but plays "the Game" because he's trying to plot against the Throne. They send him the Mountains head as a trophy for the death of his brother. He aligns himself with house Targaryen after hearing about the Dragons. His bodyguard dude doesn't die either, in fact they remain alive in the books.

I don't think Tristaine was in the books but he is based off of Quenten who is one of Doran's sons that goes to Meereen to offer an allegiance with Dany but gets killed by an assassin or something.

The show just shat all over that and for the life of me I don't get why. I don't necessarily hate the Dorne scenes because of this but just because the acting, dialogue, "action" and motives don't work at all. They introduced it way too late and "ended" it really pathetically.

totally agree with you about Stannis! Cleganebowl hype? I hope it happens but it doesn't look like it will.
