Logan was pretty good, overused plot devices but still good.

It's just a hassle to me, I don't have room for books/comics, and I don't like reading on the computer/tablets. Like I LOVEEEEEEEE new comics because they smell so good and feel great to flip through pages but I just don't have a place for anything. Ya feel me?

Great, now I'm going to unironically start sniffing my blu rays when I buy new ones. Another fucking weird fetish to add to the list.

haha i hear you burnfire just messing with you. it is kinda funny tho that the convenience of other entertainment has turned so many off from reading (myself included up until about a year ago). shit even to this day. i'm on book 7 of the malazan series and sometimes when i'm not in the mood i'd rather just watch tv or a movie

I keep hearing great things about it as well, just never got around to it. Not really into TV shows anymore, idk why (minus the ones still going like GoT and The Leftovers). I kinda like how Mirror's episodes are more cinematic so curious how that concept works as a whole. I guess it's just a phase perhaps, I've been studying individual films more so as of late and writing, so sitting down and binging a show hasn't happened in a while.

Well, if you want to watch really weird, oddball, yet amazing films, I had the pleasure of watching "Videodrome" and "House" today.

"Videodrome"
A very odd tale of body horror and what defines pleasure to one’s self. Cronenberg’s existential vision of the push into the digital age is a film that will be stuck in my head for a long time. It’s a very disgusting look into the modern media and how far we are willing to go to become fully satisfied by media consumption. The film centers on abuse and sadomasochism and is quite open to interpretation. Instead of a heavy dialogue driven plot, the film is mostly told through its world building techniques and characters which I found to work in its advantage with how bizarre everything else going on was, very mysterious and under-worldly. It’s an expression of the acts of violence and pornography overtaking traditional stage play productions in film and the critical outlash to this new wave of extreme stimulated entertainment received back in the 70’s. I found the film to be quite genius in its delivery and the hallucination scenes were quite shocking as we slowly see this world go insane due to the oversensitiveness of what they are watching, sometimes a bit absurd, but important to the overall theme. It’s a great parody, if you will, of the overall excess of the subculture of modern media and the depravity that comes with it.

"House"
I guess today is oddball Friday or something, another bizarre yet amazing film. “House” is a great experimental spin on the haunted house story that is absolutely fucking crazy, funny and scary and it never lets up. There are plenty of popular horror/comedies out there, but you’ve never seen anything like this. I’m pretty sure this film inspired “Evil Dead” but that’s just an observation. The film is ultimately hard to sum up in words and is more or less an experience that you just have to see for yourself. The creative decisions by Ôbayashi really showcase this insane vision of a seemingly children’s fairytale taking a drastic turn into absolute chaos. There are so many moments of reality being bent and distorted, all concepts of reason or logic become lost and the perception of reality is defined by a series of violence, comedy and vibrant animation/colors. To sum it up, or at least try to, “House” is a non-stop LSD trip that’s bizarrely fascinating, and if you’re even slightly curious, I’d recommend giving it a watch. Being on something might actually be a benefit in this case. On a final note, Kunfû is a badass.

Didn't end up watching "Logan" after all, I think I'm just gonna wait for Redbox on that one, I'm so sick of giving these people my money simply based on a principle standpoint. On a side note, had a couple FB friends msg me about how much they enjoyed "Swiss Army Man" and I think it's a totally underrated 2016 pick, I believe it's free on Amazon now, just throwing that out there.

I liked every episode. 3rd season is the best overall. 2nd season is emotional. One of my fave shows. I like getting high with friends and watching it lol

Black Mirror is great. It's creepy how relevant the subject matter can be. Certain episodes ended up more or less predicting real events.
