Gamercast of Thrones

Post by youdiedtooeasily » Tue Apr 26, 2016 23:56

ITT we discuss Game of Thrones while we wait for Saladin to catch up. Or we persuade him to steal someones credit card information and get HBO Go like the rest of the world.

good idea. i'd feel pretty bad if i stumbled on a thread about movies and read a bunch of GoT spoilers!

BE WARNED ALL WHO ENTER

so did this stannis mess happen in the books as well? because if so that's really disappointing and makes me question his writing. on a more positive note, i love the whole storyline with arya. i was just thinking how far her character has come. i would have never guessed watching the show for the first time this is where she'd end up. i love it. i love that even she isn't immune to the terrible shit that goes on this world. that's the kind of stuff that makes me giddy about fantasy.

I got season 4 ruined really badly for me thanks to Facebook so I know how it feels.

Stannis as a character got butchered in the show by comparison. I'm not one of those overzealous book fans that harps on the show for being a bad adaptation but I can agree is they messed up Dorne and Stannis pretty bad, the rest is fine. he's still alive in the books and from what I recall (I borrowed them so I can't refer to them) the last we saw of him he was marching to fight the Boltons and wanted to behead Theon to get on the good side with the North. Ramsay sends a raven to Jon claiming he killed Stannis and his army to taunt him (I honestly forgot why). Jon tells Stannis this and warns him about attacking the Boltons. So his last moment was the march to fight Ramsay and the show took over from that point. Stannis was a lot smarter and strategic in the books like a natural military commander. The last thing I remember is him claiming if he dies Shireen will take his place. WELP THAT WENT UP IN FLAMES!! lol! this is why the 20 good men meme is so dumb since Stannis is supposed to be the best battle commander in the realm.

I agree with you on Arya, although she fucked that one guy up pretty badly in Bravos haha! I think she'll head back to the Riverlands and get revenge. Just like the North, she remembers. I thought it was great how the Hound looked after her and she sort of absorbed his traits in order to survive on her own. She's definitely been on a wild journey throughout the course of the show. When I went back and rewatched seasons 1 and 2 recently I was like holy shit, she's come a long way since then.

what is your stance on Cleganebowl? is it going to happen on the show?

book nonsense reference:

Brienne and Pod, left out of the show, come across an island which they notice the Hound's horse and are briefly mentioned a monk living amongst them of superhuman prowess aka the Hound, theoretically. it's at least hinted this way. but yeah, the only thing I'm excited for is to see this shit go down. Cleganebowl HYPE!!!!! FUCKING CONFIRMED!!!! DABID PLZ!

either/or reference:

I pretty much figured out how the show/books will end and it all revolves around Jon Stark/Targ and Dany fighting off the white walkers and ironically Tyrion will be the last remaining Lannister at the end. Bran will play a major role in all of it, perhaps even the resurrection of Jon plus Melly. by all means prove me wrong, just my personal theory is all.

the R + L = J theory is made heavily prevalent when you go back and watch the first two seasons. Once they show us the Tower of Joy flashback it will confirm Jon's real identity. (at least I hope so)

"He always comes back!" - Sam

Plus, why would they show him carrying episodes aka him defending Castle Black and taking out a white walker at Hardhome if it wasn't meant for him to be the main protagonist? I know the show is ruthless towards its characters' fates but this clue is obvious. Hell, even in the first episode of the series there are a ton of visual cues hinting this and even Ned and the King discuss Jon's past with major wink wink lines confirming the Tower of Joy scene we'll see this season. Tyrion also mentions just because he's a bastard it doesn't mean he can't do great things for the realm. Hmmm... what did he mean by this? Jon is the key to all of it. Song of Ice and Fire. *witty remark*.

Seriously, when you have some spare time, go back and watch the first two seasons and compare them to the newer ones. SO MANY HINTS to the outcomes of nearly every character. It's pretty cool.

Just caught up yesterday.

Well, everyone knew that was coming.

In general, I'm actually finding this season to be pretty slow so far. I wonder where they're gonna go with it.

Re: Gamercast of Thrones

Post by youdiedtooeasily » Wed May 04, 2016 20:12

just dropping this from FB, my predictions for Season 6

GAME OF THRONES SEASON 6 PREDICTION:

ARYA
Arya is finally forgiven by Jaquen and ready to start her first hit. He gives back her sight and she has to take out some asshole that mocks the Starks and praises the Lannisters while she is undercover. This reminds her of the Red Wedding. In the end, she decides to leave Bravos behind her and go back to Westeros. Jaquen denies her request so she takes matters into her own hands to escape. She and the Waif go toe to toe and Arya is forced to kill her to escape. This is when we see her jumping around the city from the trailer as she escapes the house. She will be disguised and makes it to the Riverlands on horseback; she stops at an inn to eat. She overhears guards talking about Walder Frey’s big wedding.

BRAN
R+L = J told through flashbacks.

DORNE
All I can think of is Ellaria assumes command of Dorne? Even though Oberyn’s oldest daughter technically would be in charge. The sneks will travel somewhere to carry out some mission but will run into Jamie and Bronn again in the Riverlands, maybe, or something. I honestly have no fucking clue about this shit subplot.

IRON ISLANDS
Euron arrives at Kingsmoot and is hailed as the new King. He vows to make the Ironborn a formidable force once again and will invade the North with a large attack. He has his eyes set on Oldtown. Yara desperately tries to find Theon since he is the rightful heir. Euron pillages Oldtown, killing all the maesters. Euron steals some information about Valyrian steel from the grand library which intrigues him. Euron returns to the Iron Islands to find Yara with Theon. They argue about Theon’s right to the throne but Euron doesn’t care. He reminds them that Winter is coming, their argument is trivial at this point.

KINGS LANDING
Brace for epic. Cersei is out for blood as she plots vengeance with Qyburn. She is stripped of any power she formerly had. Kevan has taken over as the main speaker for the Lannisters now and it drives her crazy. Kevan tries to calm down Cersei and the High Sparrow but it doesn’t work. The Tyrells return in full force demanding justice. Mace returns from Braavos and Lady Olenna fills him in with what happened which outrages him.

Jamie wants to go back to Dorne and get revenge for Myrcella but Kevan instructs him to go on a different journey to the Riverlands instead. He refuses insisting he worries about the fate of Cersei and Tommen. Tommen leads a brigade of Tyrell troops and demands Margaery get set free by the High Sparrow. The High Sparrow allows it only to see a completely changed Margaery, she is no longer her former self which causes Tommen to go into a deep depression. She is just as batshit as the other Faith Militants now. Loras is still in his cell and grows angrier by the minute.

Jamie and Cersei get into a big fight which breaks off their relationship for good. Jamie takes up Kevan’s offer from before and he and Bronn go on another adventure, this time to the Riverlands. Cersei’s trial begins now. Littlefingers gift to Lady Olenna was GENDRY! He testifies that Cersei ordered the murders of King Robert’s bastards because of Joffrey who was a byproduct of incest, not kingsblood aka Tommen. This stirs up a lot of tension.

The High Sparrow releases Loras and the Tyrells officially turn their back to the throne. This is when the real shit goes down. After the trial, the Faith Militants storm the Red Keep. Cersei and Tommen are under arrest from Gendry’s accusations against them. They overpower the guards and make their way inside. Tommen gives himself up to the High Sparrow to put an end to all of the commotion. This is Cersei’s breaking point. She loses her fucking mind and sends Robert Strong after them, ordering him to murder all of them. Kevan sends a raven to Jamie about all the crazy shit happening.

A huge fight breaks out as Robert Strong goes on a killing rampage. Tommen, Lancel and the High Sparrow die as a result of this. Cersei stands before her last dead child mourning him. Loras comes from behind and stabs her in the back, she’s dead. Varys makes his return and kills Kevan with a crossbow, stating Dany is coming to take her rightful place on the throne. The Red Keep is up in flames and will be the final shot of the season.

MEEREEN
Dany is taken to Vaes Dothrak to remain with the widows. Drogon saves the day once again. The Dothraki claim allegiance with her and escort her back to Meereen.

The Harpys terrorize the city as Tyrion and Varys try to figure out how to handle them. More unneeded romance scenes with Grey Worm and Messendei will happen. Varys eventually tells Tyrion he has to go back to Kings Landing because his birds gave him some important information he must attend to.

Jorah and Daario run into the Dothraki ready to rescue Dany but they find out she is Khaleesi once again. They regroup and make it back to Meereen. Jorah starts second guessing Daario at this point. His grayscale almost covers his whole hand so he wears a glove to hide it, but Daario knows.

Once they get back to Meereen, Dany locks up Drogon back with the other dragons (Daario’s idea) which outrages Tyrion. Daario confronts Jorah about his grayscale and threatens to tell Dany about it, he tells him to leave Meereen and his secret will be safe. Jorah ponders this but Tyrion advises him on the issue since he overheard the conversation, Jorah still decides to leave. Dany orders the dwindling unsullied to take back the city and kill anyone suspicious which causes more unrest in the city.

Dany sets up a meeting with the main former masters to unravel the Harpy mystery. Daario uses this to his advantage and the Second Sons start murdering all of them as well as all the unsullied. Grey Worm dies in this scene. Daario is revealed to the leader be behind the Harpys. He throws Dany and Missendei into a cell and proclaims to be the new ruler of Meereen.

Tyrion barley escapes the city with his life and finds Jorah among the Dothraki outside the city. He explains what happened and they both come up with a plan to retake Meereen. Tyrion unleashes the dragons as Jorah leads the Dothraki to attack. The three dragons fuck up the entire Second Sons and Harpys. Jorah and Daario have a duel and Jorah prevails. He rescues Dany and Missendei and tells her about the grayscale, she brushes it off and asks him to be by her side regardless. (I believe Targs are immune to it) Dany, Tyrion, Jorah and Missendei contemplate their next move as the Dothraki firmly support them.

OLDTOWN
Sam and Gilly, having a rough trip, finally make it to Oldtown. Sam is instructed to find out everything he can about Valyrian steel. He meets with his father and they discuss the subject. He gives Sam his own Valyrian sword sort of as a welcome back present. He gets back to Oldtown after Euron’s attack, all of the information he gathered about Valyrian steel is gone.

RIVERLANDS
Walder Frey prepares a new wedding as he seeks to replace his former bride. One of Walder’s sons is captured by the Brotherhood and they tell him they found a bride for Frey. A priest of the Seven and a mysterious hooded man are introduced. They get held up by a gang of bandits and we see the hooded man brutally murder all of them. He is very powerful.

Jamie and Bronn reach the Riverlands and have a meeting with Walder Frey. They claim they’re looking for Blackfish. Walder informs them of his wedding and he’s found a new bride. Walder’s son is brought to Thoros and he reveals that Beric died for good this time, but in return, he gave life back to someone else.
The Brotherhood runs into the priest and the hooded man, the hooded man pulls back his hood and is revealed to be THE HOUND! They nod respectively and the Brotherhood claim to be headed to Walder Frey’s wedding.

The Red Wedding part two occurs. Walder awaits his promised bride but meets Thoros and the Bortherhood instead. Thoros introduces LADY STONEHEART, who Beric offered his life for, as Walder’s new bride! Her and the Brotherhood return the same treatment she got and they arrow/murder all the Frey’s. Arya witnesses this.

THE NORTH
Sansa, Brienne and Pod reach the Umbers who will protect them from the Boltons. Lots of parallels to Catelyn and Sansa will be made; the North remembers its true leaders, the Starks! Rickon and Osha are there and there is a nice reunion moment.

Ramsay is playing two games as he tries to plot against Littlefinger and prepare an attack on Castle Black to take back Sansa. He sends a raven to Castle Black stating to give up Sansa or he’s coming to take her by force as Warden of the North.

At Castle Black, Jon is alive and well. He delivers harsh justice and beheads Alliser as his final act of being Lord Commander. Jon and Melissandre debate on what to do next. She claims he needs to stay at the Wall and defend while he wants to go find his family. He ultimately decides to leave the Wall and takes the Wildlings with him to reclaim Winterfell after getting the letter from Ramsay, Melly and Davos accompany him. Edd and the Nights Watch stay behind.

Jon starts gathering Northern houses to ally himself with to take on Ramsay. He makes it to the Umbers and is reunited with Sansa and Rickon. Mel warns Jon he has to hurry because Winter is coming soon. He has to set aside his family in agreement and rallies the other houses together under one banner.

The Battle of the Bastards! A huge battle in a blizzard for Winterfell takes place. Jon and the wildlings along with Sansa and the Northern houses vs the Bolton army. Shit goes down! Tormund and Ramsay fight but Ramsay kills him. Jon steps in and the two bastards square off. Jon is able to injure Ramsay but Ramsay is able to escape with his life. Most of the wildlings die, even Wun Wun. Jon feels like he let them down, reminded of Hardhome. The Boltons seem to have the upper hand until Littlefinger arrives with the Knights of the Vale which turns the tide, delivering the killing blow to the Bolton army. Jon retakes Winterfell, naming Sansa as Queen of the North. Jon claims they need to prepare for Winter while Littlefinger claims they can take the throne at Kings Landing.

Some huge event takes place that is seen/felt/heard around the entire realm. All the major characters witness it. Mel tells Jon “Winter is here”. The Wall crumbles as the Night’s King and his army comes storming through Castle Black. Edd and the Nights Watch unfortunately meet their demise and the Night’s King raises them from the dead as his servants. The White Walkers are here!

-edit-
the copy/paste didn't quite format as well as I hoped from FB, corrected some spacing to make it easier to read.

tbh, I was unemployed for a couple months and used that free time to read all the books and over the past couple weekends I've rewatched the entire series. after that all these plot lines formed in my head. I sat down one day after work and just went on a writing frenzy and this was the result. I have no life, I know.

I think part of it is from working on scripts for the past year, I tend to pick up on things easier and am able to predict events that happen way down the road sooner than I used too. this is all theoretical but I feel rather confident about it. been a recent thing I've been doing when I get in writers block, I fan fic all my favorite shows/films that are still running just to test my creative limits as a personal challenge. I've also been watching a lot of YouTubers do their take on the story and it got me intrigued to give my own take on what I think will go down.

I think I have a rather deep imagination but I still am my own worst critic and it drives me batshit sometimes. my goal is to finish my two feature length film ideas by the end of the year since I've been stalling lately. these little side projects are amusing to me is all and I try to push my own limits when I think about them.

well crap my theory is starting to unravel in some parts.

although...

mention of Robert Strong in a trial by combat

mention of the Hound possibly being alive
CLEGANEBOWL FUCKING CONFIRMED!!!!! GET HYPE!!! TELL EVERYONE!!!!!
the Rickon and Osha being the gifts was an odd reveal imo unless they are glamoured up by magic to look like them. the Umbers arch for siding with Ramsay makes no sense at all. if anything they would have invited them in with open arms! we'll see.

also kek, why did gramps fart during the meeting!? Dabid! plz no!
