I got really pissed at the ending though

"they woke up and it was all a dream"

I mean come on, it's supposed to be a classic

welp I finished the first Doom novel

This is pretty much why film writers should ignore all those jackasses who make a fuss when a movie based on their favourite game deviates from its source material. If I wanted to play the game I would just play the fucking game, I don't want the game dictated to me through questionable prose

Seriously they even stuck to the game's level designs. This novel is one long action scene: a marine goes to Mars and shoots some zombies and also some demons. Nothing else happens.

But it was better written than I was expecting, so I guess that's something. Even if the authors had massive boners for the semicolon

Guys, guys.

I am reading Elsewhere: Tales of Fantasy Vol. II right now. These are seriously some of the best fantasy short stories I have ever read. If anyone ever sees this in a bargain bin or library or something, pick it the fuck up.

it's even got some poetry in it that doesn't suck. my mind is blown

I asked my mother to take a peek for books in the local Tesco supermarket, and dropped a few names as to what i would like and a few genres she should check out.

She came back with Eragon.

Bless her heart. I will read it anyway.
