Site hosting

Post by Paul » Wed Jun 01, 2005 02:02

To announceify my previous offer, if you wanna manage a website about a game you like, I'll host it FOR FREE (yes there will be an ad - and assuming you don't go mental with bandwidth of server resources - if you do I'll set Wester on you).

Some of you guys have suggested having a FEAR site. I hadn't even heard of FEAR until you guys mentioned it a couple of weeks back. So if you guys want to get together and want to seriously put together a site let me know. Management will totally be in your hands, I simply don't have the time, I barely have the time to maintain the sites we've got now.

Er - I know this is kind of dead but..

Do we have to script it?
What will we be managing?

Because if we don't have to script it then I would like one ;)

I'll give you a box to put it on. You do the rest. You can build off code some of the sites use if you want though.

Some kind of way to make it like the other sites? I mean I like the way the portal sites are.

If so, a MMO Portal would be nice to have ;)

Also, could members not on the forum be staff?

I wholeheartedly agree with an MMO site, I've played so many that I can do lots of reviews. I also know a lot of HTML code and i've been looking for a project after I left Myspace, I need some refreshers though. So SIGN ME UP!

I don't think that many MMO's will be necessary. Maybe WoW, GW, EQ and some other game you buy.

Why do you honestly want an MMO site? There are so many excellent sites already that will provide a much better experience. Allakhazam comes to mind. If you want to make a site you generally want an audience, an audience that you won't get from an MMO site being that there are already umpteen million of them with pertanent information such as raid information, mob drop rates and gear listings.
