Hello people.

Any of you got any ideas how we can increase the populatity of the site?

Er... do we have a banner or something? We could put the banner around the place, although this doesn't work as well as it should. Aside from that the only other thing I can think of right now is try and partner with some other D3 sites.

I agree with Ransom about partnering with other sites.

Maybe add something that the other D3 sites don't have... Oh well, just wait until D3 comes out. There's a gigantic review on its way. Perhaps we could advertise it as the net's most in-depth and detailed review (without giving away spoilers, of course)... We could also get all of the forum regulars to write a bit about what they thought of D3 and post it as 'second opinions' sort of thing under the main review, etc. ...

*looks around*

Sounds good to me. I like the second opinions idea. But you'd have to make it pretty bloody in-depth to advertise it as the most detailed, I don't think it'd be a good impression on newcomers if we used false advertising…

Don't worry, I've already written about 3 pages, and I haven't even played the game yet :P I have my intro and my final portions done, I just have to play the game and fill in everything in between. I'll go as in-depth as I can without spoiling anything. Well, I'll obviously tell the first part of the Doom story. D3 is rumoured to have some crazy plot turns, so those will be left out ;)

Linking up with other sites, yeah tried that before.

What other pretty active DOOM 3 sites are there?

Planetgaydoom
doom3world

Then ? lots of crap.

I do have an idea....... A mass vandalism campaign, this is what it involves. All you dudes have to cover everything with D3P URLs!!! A mass vadalism campaign on a world scale would get the people rolling on in!

Hey who ever covers the most area in URL's get a free can of spraypaint

Well, I guess we could resort to Google bombing.

Heh,

I don't think this site needs to be much more popular, I like the small community.

True, though I think we could use 5-10 more people.

Oh well, at least the site gets lots of hits.

How about we hack into all other Doom 3 sites and move all member accounts to D3P, then make it so when they tried to visit their website, they are redirected to D3P

Nah.

Heh, D3P spyware. Have it hi-jack Internet Explorer. It could set the homepage to doom3portal.com, pop up lots of D3P logos, and redirect all Doom3 related pages to Doom3portal.

Great fun... :?

Tell you what, for say forum members with say over 250 or however many posts, I'll put up a community/members page with links to your homepages. In return shove a link back to D3P.

How's that? :)

I'd say 500 or so, 250 doesn't take very long. At any rate I noticed that button a few days ago and there's a link on The Avatar now.
